It’s World Contraception Day 2022 & to celebrate over the next week we want to proudly support, promote & share korero about individual experiences with contraception across NZ.
My Choice is about sharing our experiences of using contraception to meet our own health & wellbeing needs. Check out our Instagram page every day this week to hear from wāhine about their experience of using different methods of contraception and what has worked, and not worked, for them. #MyChoice
Thinking about your own sexual health, here are some top tips ➡️
〰it is important that people can choose the contraception that works for their lifestyle.
〰sometimes that may mean trying a few different options before you find the one that works for you.
〰make sure you take the time to find out about all the different options available – check out the website for all the details, including pros and cons.
〰it’s a great idea to chat it through with people you are comfortable with – partners, friends, family or whānau, to offer advice & support.
〰jot down any questions you may have so you can talk it through with a healthcare professional to help you make your decision when you are ready.
〰it’s important to have regular sexual health check ups. Not all contraception options will protect you from STIs.
〰healthy relationships are the key to good sexual health – respect yourself & your partner.
